‘Anne Ross: Whichway’ final weeks

Don’t miss your chance to see Anne Ross: Whichway, closing 27 August.

Comprising over 40 works in bronze dating from the mid-1990s to the present, Whichway demonstrates Ross’ major achievements working in patinated cast bronze sculpture.

Take a stroll at twilight through Billilla gardens

Bayside-based artist Mark Forbes is known for his documentary photography that captures the beauty of the everyday. Forbes worked with ballerina Aimee Hodgkinson from the Victorian State Ballet to instill elegance and beauty within the interiors of Billilla, creating a sense of artistic energy infused with determination and drive that is suggestive of the future importance of creativity at Billilla.

Join current Billilla Studio Artist, Carolyn Cardinet, this Science Week for a special art and sustainability workshop. In this art making session we will explore what sea creatures could look like if we continue our trajectory and love for convenience in single-use plastics.

Carolyn’s art practice and passion are dedicated to spread overconsumption awareness and use sustainably design artworks upcycling and transforming plastic waste.

Unleash your laughter with an eight-week comedy workshop 🤡

A program for seniors and the young at heart, Comedy & Connection is an exploration of physical comedy, collaboration and connecting to and leading from joy. Expect theatre games, exercises, movement, improvisation and laughter. This is not standup comedy! We will laugh, move, explore storytelling through the body and through clowning.

The first free ‘come and try’ session is facilitated by comedian and actor Laura Trenerry and will be run as a theatre and movement style class followed by morning tea.

Upcoming exhibition ZOONOSES

Bayside Gallery is proud to present ZOONOSES, a major touring exhibition showcasing artworks by Dr Nicola Hooper.

Dr Nicola Hooper has taken the darker side of nature and turned it into exquisite, thought-provoking art.

Through drawing and lithography, Nicola uses fairy-tale iconology and rhymes to explore concepts surrounding zoonoses (animal diseases that can infect humans) and how we perceive certain animals in the context of fear and disease.
