Milo Hartill [MC]Midsumma Festival’s 2026 official program was launched in style last night, Monday 24 November 2025, unveiling a three‑week celebration of queer arts and culture that will take over Melbourne and Victoria from Sunday 18 January to Sunday 8 February 2026. The evening also featured Lord Murray Schoorman of Peak Hour Images, who attended as an invited media guest and formally photographed the proceedings for press and archival use.
The launch confirmed that Midsumma Carnival will again serve as the festival’s grand opening event, transforming a central Melbourne park into a full‑day celebration of community, performance and visibility on Sunday 18 January 2026. Audiences can expect multiple performance stages, community stalls, family‑friendly activities, a VIP marquee and evening entertainment, signalling the official start of 22 days of queer joy across the city.Milo Hartill [MC]
A key highlight of the program remains the Midsumma Pride March, which will once more parade down Fitzroy Street, St Kilda, before culminating in celebrations by the bay on Sunday 1 February 2026. Thousands of marchers from community groups, emergency services, sporting clubs and cultural organisations are expected to line the iconic boulevard, creating a powerful moving statement of solidarity, protest and pride.
Further, it can be revealed that Peak Hour Images has been sponsoring the VIP Brunch each year ahead of the Pride March. 2026 will mark the tenth anniversary of this VIP Brunch and while the finer details are still under wraps, we understand that the 10th year brunch is set to break records of the number of celebrities in attendance and the calibre of such celebrity and high-profile dignitaries.
Bringing the 2026 calendar to a close, the program launch confirmed that Victoria’s Pride will again serve as the festival’s final flagship event on Sunday 8 February 2026. The statewide initiative will culminate in a major street party, rounding out the festival with outdoor stages, community activations and regional participation that reflects the breadth of rainbow life across Victoria.
