I have appreciated Soul / Jazz singer Renee Geyers work for years. She has been hailed as Australia’s Queen of Soul. With hits such as ” It’s a mans world” and “Heading in the right direction”.

I did a phone interview with Renee at 8.30im which goes to prove not all Rock Chicks sleep all day and party all night.
I asked her did she think it was a “Man’s World”, she simply replied, “It would mean nothing without a woman”. Touche.
I asked her about the ‘Me Too’ movement and the way it has impacted on the Movie Industry. Did she think there was some relevance in the Music Business? Her reply was” I sing and perform I just get on with it”. As a performer, she is a good politician.
I asked her about the kind of audience she expected to attend her performances, and she revealed she spends a lot of time in New Zealand where she has a huge Maori audience. Considering the numbers of New Zealand born people living in Melbourne the place should be packed.
