With just one week to go, ReGen Expo 2025 is ready to unite government, industry and innovators at ICC Sydney on 23–24 July, showcasing the real-world solutions accelerating Australia’s transition to a circular and more sustainable future.

ReGen, formerly AWRE and Circularity, is Australia’s only event connecting the full circular resource supply chain, from design to recovery to second life. It unites the strengths of the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE), which focused on downstream recovery, with Circularity’s upstream emphasis, creating a single national platform for progress. This year’s event will feature120 exhibitors, 80 speakers, and 35 free sessions across two stages.

A key partner in the expo’s strategic direction is the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA), returning in 2025 as a Major Partner and the official sponsor of the Resource Stage. This stage is focused on recovery, recycling and residuals management, supporting practical progress through aligned expertise and cross-industry collaboration.

NSW EPA’s support is key to the event’s mission, which is the bridging of policy and implementation to help local councils, regulators and industry make circularity goals a reality.

Speaker Program Highlights Featuring NSW EPA:

  • NSW EPA Programs Update: Driving Progress in Resource Recovery and Circular Economy

23 July, 10:40–11:10 AM | Alexandra Geddes, Executive Director, Programs & Innovation, NSW EPA

A practical update on how EPA programs are supporting the behaviour changes needed in the shift to a safe circular economy

  • Enabling Australia’s Circular Resource Economy: The Role of Policy and Collaboration

23 July, 12:10–12:40 PM | Alexandra Geddes (NSW EPA), Patricia O’Callaghan (QLD Government), Matt Genever (Sustainability Victoria)

A cross-jurisdictional conversation on enabling action through better policy alignment.

  • FOGO Mandates in Practice

23 July, 2:20–3:20 PM | Amanda Kane, Organics Manager, NSW EPA

A discussion on the rollout of organics recovery mandates, backed by $81M in state government investment.

  • Day One Reflections – Insights from Across Government and Industry

23 July, 4:25–4:55 PM | Alexandra Geddes, NSW EPA

Key takeaways from Day One, connecting national leadership to grassroots implementation.

NSW EPA will also be on the show floor at Stand F15 in the Association & Government Zone, available for open discussions and collaboration around the state’s circular priorities.

Other Event Highlights Include:

  • Innovation Pitch Fest (sponsored by Coles), featuring Australia’s most exciting circular startups.
  • The Circularity Stage, focused on design, procurement, and systems thinking for a regenerative future.
  • An exhibitor showcase of cutting-edge solutions for local governments, waste operators, and circular economy leaders.
  • Opportunities to meet the changemakers turning circular strategy into action.

The full speaker program was developed in partnership with Planet Ark, the Waste Contractors & Recyclers Association of NSW (WCRA), and the ReGen Advisory Board, made up of representatives from across the circular resource supply chain, with a commitment to prioritising circularity progress.

With policy shifting, allowance of funding, and pressure mounting for results, ReGen 2025 offers a chance to see how government and industry are working together to drive a truly sustainable future for Australia.
